Call at a Campo
At some point, as you wander through Venice you will walk along a narrow calle which suddenly and unexpectedly opens out into the wide open space of a campo. These campos are places of community where families gather and you will see friends greeting each other and sharing news. You may see children playing football. A campo is the vibrant heart of the neighbourhood.
The campo covered in Exploring Venice Mindfully are:
Santa Margarita, Santo Stefano, San Polo, Campo Ghetto, Santa Maria Formosa, San Giovanni e Paulo, San Barnaba and Via Garibaldi (which for me is an honorary campo).
